Bio

Mark Joseph Oliver was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, where he graduated from Hillsborough Community College and then University of South Florida to earn his BFA in Sculpture. He received his MFA in Sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Mark’s work is largely inspired by memory and natural phenomena and examines the relationships of man and land through the exploration of extreme weather, suburbia, and environment. He currently lives and works in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina.
